Billington Sea - Sunday April 20, 2008

All boaters need to try and get to the ramp early for Boat inspections and make sure you have your insurance papers up to date. If a boater does not have the proper insurance ($300,000 liability) they will not be allowed to fish.

Safety is important especially when you consider that you are taking someone else's father / son / husband on the water with you. The inspections will cover all the legal requirements for boating safety. Check the by-laws if you are unsure that you have all of the proper equipment, or better yet check out the Coast Guard regulations for Massachusetts waters. Having the minimum is good, exceeding them is even better.

If you are new to Billington Sea, please ask the guys about possible danger spots, there are some nasty rock piles here that you don't want to hit at 70 MPH.

If you can't make it to the tournament, please call an officer as soon as possible. There may be non-boaters with a boat they could bring if given enough notice. (Same rules apply for non-boaters for insurance and safety)

Hopefully this will be a great day! The weather is looking good and the fish are hungry!

Good Luck Everyone!
