August Meeting
The meeting was called to order at 7:22 PM with 18 members present, 1 absent, and 1 excused.
Originally Club Dues were to be paid tonight -- but were extended to the September meeting because of matters discussed later.
Membership was talked about....Mark Hickey has dropped out of the club and Ira Friedman has been bumped up to Boater status. At the same time a motion was made to increase the Boater Roster...which will be taken into consideration.
The prospect of a new Tournament scale was brought up and I will get the information about a Cardinal Scale like the one we use now, and the Equalizer Scale like the one used by the ABA....and a few others.
The "NO CALL" rule penalty of $5.00 and -500 points has been invoked tonight -- and Dan Simmons is the first victim to feel its wrath.
The most important discussion of the meeting was weather we stay in the Federation or go out on our own??? Since 18 of out 20 members were present .... a vote was taken----and the results were a 13 to 5 vote to leave the Federation. A rough breakdown of dues, payouts, rules, and other points of interest will be discussed at the September Meeting.
A close running for Angler of the Year, between Jim Zarella and Jeff Coates, is in discussion and the reading of the By-Laws will determine the winner. In brief.... it is based on your best 4 Tournaments, 4 Weights and 4 Points...A discrepancy would be cleared by Total Points. The Tournament Committee now has this under advisement.
The State Fish-Off will be attened by ...John Farrenti and Scott Lennox-- Boaters, Al Simmons, and Lonny French---Non - Boaters.
After the vote not to rejoin the Federation we decided to increase our Boater Roster by 2. As mentioned before Ira Friedman was bumped up to boater and Gary Joy will rejoin the club as a boater----WECOME BACK GARY !!!
