October Meeting
The meeting started at 7:17 PM with 13 members present, 4 excused, and 2 absent.
The first piece of news is that we lost 2 more members, Bob Iodice and Lonny French....we will miss them both and hope that they will return in the future. This has left one Boater and one Non-Boater position open. Al Simmons has stepped up to fill the Boater position....that now means that we need 5 Non-Boaters. If you know of anyone that wants to join ----invite them to a meeting so we can bring up our membership.
IMPORTANT NOTICE :
Those of you that have not paid your club dues need to pay up as soon as possible. The dues should have been paid by September (a break from being do in August ) Please contact Gary LaBrie to make arrangements for payment. If you do not pay your dues you will not be allowed to fish.
The rental contract for the Eagles Hall is do and Wayne will talk to the Eagles staff about our new contract.
Our problem with the AOY Award, as stated last month, has been solved with the first time ever " Co-AOY " Award. To avoid this problem in the future we asked the members to vote between two choices that would resolve a tie.
First Choice: Count the points for the best 6 out of 8 Tournaments...if there is still a tie ... then count the total weight for the same 6 Tournaments.
Second Choice: Count the points for the best 6 out of 8 Tournaments.. if there is still a tie, then count the points for the 8 Tournaments. The Second choice of 6 then 8 won with a vote of 7 to 5.
Another controversy which was settled, was a time issue that happened at the Waquaquet Tournament .. about arriving late and then winning. The complaint was lodged after the tournament was over . All protests MUST be made within 15 minutes of the weigh-in -----NO LATER...and if you think you are going to be late you must call and speak to an offical --- they will decide weather or not you will be allowed to fish that tournament. Everyone should have an Emergency Call Card ... if you don't see one of the club officers to get one.
The last topic of discussion was our Awards Banquet ---- Tentatively it is set for February 7, 2009.....This will be discussed more at the next meeting. Meeting Adjourned at 8:24 PM
