July Meeting

The meeting was called to order at 7:08 PM with 10 members present, 6 excused and 4 absent. A few subjects were brought up for discussion. First was the Boat Inspection we have at the first Tournament of each season. We had this inspection because of the Federation Rules we had to follow, BUT.... since we are no longer in the Federation, it was voted upon and accepted by the members, to drop the inspection.... BUT this should be known...Some of those rules are required by the Coast Guard and DEP. So if you are caught in violation of any of the rules that they require, and are fined, the club is not responsible and you will be DQed from that tournament. SO KNOW THE RULES OF THE WATER and follow them. The only rule that we will keep with a slight change is that LIVE WELLS will be checked at the beginning of each tournament. Also discussed and agreed too, was the update and revision of the By-Laws and the addition of the 6 Pound Pool Rules to it.

The newest craze in bass fishing is the Alabama Rig. The only way we can use it, is to modify it by only using two of the five baits with hooks.......example---- a rig has 5 arms with baits on them --- only 2 of the baits can have hooks in them --- the other 3 must be used as teasers. The last subject discussed was the meetings....... it seems that more members are at the tourneys then there are at the meetings..... so it was suggested that during the summer we have our meetings at the ramp just before the launch. There were pros and cons about this and we will discuss it more in the future.
