(just kidding) Click here for the CCB Photo Gallery October 15, 2001 November Meeting2002 Trail Tournaments were chosen at the last Fed Meeting by Bob, Dave and a call was placed to Jim Zarella. Seems we were not ready in time, they started to accept club requests early this year, forcing Bob to make the decision. The list is up, and no one complained about any of the dates. Although the one problem that may arise is the tournament for September 1st, which is on a holiday weekend and may cause permit problems. The list for 2002 is up and accurate barring any Permit troubles. New Members We have two new member for this season, one has been at the last few meetings, Bob Downarowicxz as well as Dave Kelly. On behalf of the club, I welcome these guys in Cape Cod Bass. Cape Cod Bass Banquet Saturday, February 9, 2002 the club will hold its 3rd Annual Awards Banquet. Wayne Hyde and Bob Downarowitz have volunteered to head up the Banquet Commitee and will be getting in touch with the members to get a list going for the Pot Luck Dinner. Bob Iodice was chosen to head up the Trophie Commitee (which consists of himself) this year. Some club votes may need to be taken regarding trophies and plaques so there is no descrepencies. Treasurer's Report Jim Zarella Gave his Treasurer's Report and the club seems to be in great standing. We have carried over some raffle money and with the new dues, have a nice amount extra to start the year. This means good things for the 2002 8 Man Team as well as for the club. On behalf of the club, I would like to thank Jim for getting our books in order and eliminating all the confusion that has plagued the club for years. Casting Kids Compitition, February 2-3, 2002 The Mass Bass Federation is again allowing clubs to participate in the Casting Kids Compitition at the Worcester Fishing Expo to count as their Youth / Environment responsibility. We have taken the opportunity for the last 3 or 4 years and its always been a good time. This year we have 7 volunteers, and we need 2 more, one for back up. Next Meeting: December 3, 2001We decided to not have a special By-law meeting, but instead dedicate 30 minutes at each meeting to go over the by-laws with the members whom show up. A further agenda to follow. If you have issues that you think need to be brought up, please E-mail myself or Bob Iodice so we can include them. East Monponset, HalifaxIt was a great day for fishing! Overcast! Cold Front! Misty Rain! OK, it wasn't the best, but we had fun anyway. It was a good morning bite for a few, the rest of us picked one up here and there. Sampson's Pond
All I can say is tough fishing! Ouch! What a terrible day of fishing! But on the brighter side, it was a nice day! Congratulations to George and Tom, they finished 1st and 2nd respectively on a very tough day. See the results.
Dave Horman Makes the 12 Man Team!
Dave Horman, what can we say. Great job! On day one of the Mass Bass State Fish-Offs, the club as a whole was lucky if they had a total of 10lbs. Most of the competitors at the tournament were in disgust and disbelief at the amount of 1 per bag or less showed up at the weigh in. Tough fishing through out had left most wanting to go home, in which I believe 70 did.
By the end of day 2, much of the same had occurred. But.. After a long haul up north in an old Jon boat with a hand-tiller 40 hp Johnson, Dave Horman had found fish. At weigh in time he was in 6th place with his 9+ lbs on day 2 and his one fish on day one for just over 10lbs. After a long wait, the entire club was excited to see the last person weigh in and Dave held on to the 12th spot! Only 2 guys out of 250 caught 5 fish both days to put even more perspective on the tough fishing conditions.
So speaking for the entire club, I say congratulations! Job well done, and we are all sorry you have to go back there next spring!

2001 ANGLER OF THE YEAR - BOB IODICE!!!!
Bob Iodice is the new Cape Cod Bass Angler of the Year! He edged out his victory by an outstanding tournament win at Lakeville, blowing away everyone in the club! Great job, no one in the club is more deserving for all the hard work he puts into the club, and his fishing! Great Job!

Great tournament! For a few guys anyway. Bob Iodice won this one with over 16 pounds! Jeff again with the other big bag with over 14 lbs. with everone else scatching their heads wondering what they did wrong! These two guys deserve a big pat on the back, they have both proven to be excellent fisherman this season! See the results here!

John's Pond, Mashpee
What a tournament! This year's John's Pond tournament had one of the biggest bags ever in the club's history! A great job goes out to Jeff Coates from the entire club with his bag of bass weighing 21.40 lbs. with a 6.5lb lunker!! Bob Iodice's bag was nothing to be ashamed of either with 18.50 lbs.!! Its amazing that third place was almost 8 pounds of second with 10.80 lbs. from George Kyriacos!! I guess I wasn't far off last month when I said"

Special Bylaw Meeting
There will be a special Bylaw meeting in which a half dozen or so guys from the club will be revamping the bylaws with hopes of getting them where we need them. The main changes will be in the attendance penalties and maybe a heated argument about culling dead fish? hehehe! I love politics! All of the bylaw changed will then be typed up and copies brought to the next meeting in which we will, as a whole club, vote them in.
DUES! DUES! DUES! DUES!
Dues are due by August 1st. That mean you better pay or I get your boater spot! hahahaha! Did I say August first? That's December first for Boaters. hehe. You should bring your checks or cash to the next tournament or get in touch with Bob Iodice or Jim Zarella for more details.

This is the last tournament for the 2000-2001 season. With the points race tight at the top, this could be the clincher for the coveted "Angler of the Year" title! Can Gary Joy be beat? He says "Yes!". Bob Iodice? Jeff Coates? Zarella? This is going to be interesting. But the most interesting should be Eric's attempt to get into the top ten in points, can he do it? Doubtful.
Mashpee/Wakeby Ponds, June 3rd

That was the best weigh in at Mashpee/Wakeby for this club since I started, in general 10-12lbs usually wins. We had a considerable number of guys surpass that this year! Congradulations to all the top places. See the results here and see the updated standings

Santuit and Ashumet Results
Someone should shoot that web guy, he takes forever to update this stuff!
Santuit was a small fish bite with some great pickerel action! (haha)
It just about drove everyone insane! Great job to the top three! Check out the results!
Bed fishing, as wrong and evil as it is, was the key for most at Ashumet this Saturday. A lot of Ashumet's 2 + pound smallmouths were at the weigh-in. 13 anglers between 11.3 and 14.5 pounds! Great job everyone, Especially the angler who has one his second consecutive tournament. Jeff Coats. Check out the results!
March Meeting
Due to the weather, many members decided not to show. This was a meeting that brought up many questions, on of which is Meeting No Shows. This problem is not going away, although turnout has improved. Many suggestion were brought up, many more are still to come. Cape Cod Bass as a club does not want to throw anyone out, we have a great club and would like to keep it that way. But what do you do to ensure EVERYONE shows up at the meetings? Show up at the next one, and bring suggestions.
Proposed Solutions for Meeting No Shows
1. Kick them out after missing 3 consecutive meetings.
2. Force them to take a "0" in one of their 6 counted tournaments
(not to be used for a "Drop")
3. Restructure the points system to give points for events and meetings.
4. Fines, fines and more fines of greater amounts.
Treasurer's Report
Great job Jim! Jim Zarella gave a highly detailed Treasurer's report to the club, showing all of expenses and incoming cash flow. This is what we believe to be exactly what the club needs to move on in our quest for a balanced book system that should be a guideline for every Treasurer to follow in our club. Now I think we need to get this checking account in Jim's control and allow him to do his job without restriction. We were all impressed with what he has done and have full confidence in him.
Mark it!
The schedule for the tournament trail for CCB is final and we do not expect any changes. Mark the dates on your calendar and get your gear ready, April 6th is right around the corner for our first Tournament at Waquaquet Lake in Centerville.
The Draw
The By-Laws state that you must be at the ramp no later than 6:30am on the morning of the tournament or you will not be able to fish. This rule has an extended rule which will include the draw. If you are not present for the draw (which will be at 6:30am) you will not be permitted to fish. You will also not be able to fish any club tournament if you owe the club money for dues, clothes or fines. There are a few members whom fit this issue:
Dues: Jim G., Dave W., Warren B., Joe D., Mark D. and Ken N
Clothing: Jim H. $88 and Ken N. $36
Fines: Carl A. $25 and George K. $25
That a total of 9 club members whom may not be able to fish on April 6th if their debts to the club are not cleared. Contact an officer and / or send cash or money order to Jim Zarella, 73 Church Lane, Buzzards Bay, MA 02532.
Insurance Papers Due
We will need all Insurance Papers for your boat if you have not already turned it over to Gary L., no insurance papers, no fishing tournaments.
Safety Check
Bob will be conducting spot safety checks throughout the year starting with our April 6th tournament. Check the By-Laws and be certain that you have all the required safety equipment and that you boat is ready for tournament fishing.

Cape Cod Bass Banquet
It was a success! everyone seemed to have a great time and everyone (except me) who bought tickets won something! Great job to all who helped out getting the $1300 worth of tackle donated to the club! We raised over $700 for the 8 man team! A list of the awards will be posted this week.
One Missed "Thank You"
After most of the club had left the banquet, it was remembered how important of a role someone played in the club last year. It was the one person who kept us from not being represented at the fish-offs in NH. And its not a CCB member, but a CCB member's wife who went out of her way when Bob was too sick to get the information to the Federation, and NO ONE WAS ABLE TO HELP. So the club is officially thanking Ruthie Iodice for her help, without which we wouldn't of had an 8 Man Team for 2000.
