April Meeting Notes

April 03, 2005

Unexcused: Curt Young, Carl Anderson

Boat Inspections will be help on April 17th for all boaters to make sure everyone adheres to club standards and state laws. Gary Labrie and Wayne Hyde volunteered for this. Thank you guys for helping out.

Lowrance Raffle
WINNER: Sonnie Lapre from APC (one of Gary Joy's ticket sales) Congradulations to Sonnie! And congradulation to the club for raising over $1500 in ticket sales, which adds up to around $900 for the 8 Man Team! Great Job!

Bob Tirell brought up an interesting item to be discussed and voted on at the next meeting. We are supposed to be non-profit for legal standings which means we are not to carry over large ballances from year to year. Bob brought up the idea to use some of the extra funds for dealing with the Fed's forcing us to do things like the latest $20 per person manditory raffle. He also brought up making the 8 Man Team money raising a little more fair by forcing $60 a year due in addition to our membership moneys to go towards the 50/50. This is something we need to vote on, and I think Bob has a great idea. The opposition was that forcing guys to pay more money may cause people to want to leave the club. The pros are better 50/50 pay outs and making a definate donation of $720 a year to the 8 Man Team.

Missed Tournaments
To many guys are missing tournaments, a few without notifying an officer. (that means a current officer, not just a member of the club). The rules voted on was a $5 penalty plus 500 points of your year total for each missed meeting. I will be calculating this and posting it soon. Guys, we don't like to do this and all you need to do is call. I don't want to hear any complaints when you see your deductions. We have made this very clear over and over again. This is a club where participation is needed to make it successful and fun for all.
