For a while now I have wanted to redo the website, which has been a great tool of mine since the late 90's when websites started being the next big thing. I have used Cape Cod Bass' website as a real world test when I need to challenge myself with web programming. This update was no different, however it was much needed with the technology being far outdated and not updated in a decade.
The site has evolved over the years and houses decades of data, from new articles like this to actual tournament history from what I consider legends, mentors and just plain great guys I've had the pleasure of competing against.
With that came some challenges, the site has been hacked in previous years like most websites. The tech used was far past End of Life, no security updates, support and some wouldn't work with latest systems. I have been working with ExpressionEngine for about a decade now, which I find to be far more designer and programmer friendly. User friendly as well if done correctly.
This should keep the site strong and secure for many years, and still has some work that needs to be done. If you have any suggestions please feel free to contact me. I have thoughts in my mind too make it more interesting for anglers, if you log into your account you will see some of it in development.
